It was certainly a rush and not my best idea but the memories of paddling through the foggy cyprus swamp with his tail over my shoulder made it well worth the risks.

The mountains of New Mexico are a magical place to turkey hunt, there is nothing quite like sitting by the fire at night listening to gobbles echoing through the canyons. I had a lot of sleepless nights up there waiting for daylight to come so I could chase those turkeys around.

This is a throwback to my college days, we couldn't find a boat but knew where this guy was living so we improvised and went after him in a canoe. It was certainly a rush and not my best idea but the memories of paddling through the foggy cyprus swamp with his tail over my shoulder made it well worth the risks.
